Hyundai Motor Company has officially unveiled the Concept Three at the IAA 2025, marking the brand’s first compact electric hatchback concept under the Ioniq sub-brand.

Positioned in the crucial B-segment market for Europe, the Concept Three is expected to go into production in 2026, most likely as the Ioniq 3 EV, though reports suggest that the names Ioniq 2 and Ioniq 4 remain possibilities.

Measuring 4,287 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width, 1,428 mm in height, and riding on a 2,722 mm wheelbase, the Concept Three fits squarely into the hatchback category. Its exterior reflects Hyundai’s Art of Steel design language, with sculpted bodywork and distinctive Parametric Pixel lighting details integrated into the headlights, taillights, and bumper.

Inside, the concept embraces a minimalist approach, featuring an octagonal steering wheel, two digital screens, and a calming environment created with sustainable materials such as ocean waste textiles and lightweight aluminum foam.

Interestingly, Hyundai has moved away from touchscreens, instead opting for a handful of physical buttons to control essential functions like climate settings.

While the production version’s powertrain details remain under wraps, the Concept Three is expected to feature two battery pack options, 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh, similar to the Kia EV3. This positions the upcoming model to balance urban practicality with longer driving range, making it a strong contender in the compact EV space.
